About Us

It all began with one woman’s desire to feed and clothe the destitute and spread the love of Christ through charitable acts. What began many years ago with the foundation’s matriarch and bedrock, Pastor Wendy Fernando, has since trickled down and been instilled in every member present.

The PJFM Charity foundation, then referred to as the ‘charity arm’, impacted, influenced and inspired lives for more than 20 years, after which it was successfully and officially launched as the ‘The PJFM Charity Foundation’ on the 24th of September 2022.

They say, ‘Charity begins at home’, and rightfully so in this context. The Matriarch, Pastor Wendy Fernando set this example, and she lives it every day by supporting the destitute and needy. Her humble kitchen is the bedrock of activity to reach out to many families.

Despite the global pandemic and economic and political crisis, donations were still being distributed, amidst the drastic changes we experienced as a nation. Recognizing that this was only a temporary solution at the time, It was then decided during this period to continue the distribution of dry rations and provisions to support the less fortunate and needy, which later became one of our areas of impact.

In a country marked by strife and adversity, our community is amiable and welcoming, but as unfortunate as it may sound, majority of them live impoverished. However, the foundation’s matriarch has always had the desire to ‘give’ and enable those around her who needed support to get through life. As a result, it was not a difficult task for us to pinpoint the most specific areas that required our assistance and provide prompt remedial action.

The PJFM Charity Foundation’s core team continues to collaborate with authorities, professionals, and associates to further identify families, establishments, and state services that require support. We believe we have made a significant impact in each of the key areas identified, with many of the projects continuing indefinitely.
